Yes. Each of those drops a heavy or concentrated load, so we deepen the section, build the reinforcement up, and bring rebar in wherever the weight genuinely earns it. A hot tub or an addition floor also wants a level base that will not move as the ground wets and dries, which puts the rock work and drainage on a par with the steel. Tell us what is going on it and we shape the pad around that.

Do I need a vapor barrier under the slab?

For enclosed or conditioned slabs, generally yes, since a high water table and damp Hialeah ground push moisture up through the concrete. We make the call from how the slab will be used.

Does a concrete slab require a permit?

Some do, depending on size, placement, and use, and Miami-Dade enforces it strictly, more so on a casita or an addition than on a small shed pad. We flag a likely permit early so it gets handled up front instead of surfacing midway through.
